Hi! My name is Louisa, I am 13 years old and I am from Korea. But, I was born and raised in Hong Kong. A fun fact about me is that I was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th. I have two older sisters who have both graduated from CIS and are now in college. I enjoy playing ukulele, creating music, hanging around with my friends, swimming, netball and kickboxing.
I enjoy most genres of films, and don't specifically prefer one genre, but I really enjoy films that are sad. This might sound a bit strange, but the reason I enjoy them is because they make you feel an emotion, I think that a good quality film. Films like these make me think about them for days, analysing what happened and reading articles online. This usually goes away after awhile, but I know that I truly enjoyed a film if I do so. Usually, the romantic movies I watch are sad, but I've also watched children's animation movies, such as "Inside Out", that have made me cry, so the type of movie tends to vary. One movie that I have heard is really good, and sad, is "La La Land", and I am anticipating the release of it in Hong Kong so I can go watch it.
The last film I watched was "Sing" with my two older sisters, because they wanted to watch it, since the reviews were really good. Although this movie is aimed at a younger audience than us, a 13 year old, 18 year old and 19 year old, I still throughly enjoyed it. The music was quite good, and included some famous singers and songs. Similar to most children movies it included a moral, which I thought was good. The only fault I found was that the ending was a bit rushed, and the conflict went from being impossible to solve, to being solved in a very short amount of time. Other than that I enjoyed it, I wouldn't say that it is my favourite movie of all time, but it still was good.
In this class I am looking forward to creating the musical. This is because I personally really enjoy musicals, since it is a combination of my two of my favourite things, film and music. I watched some of my friends create the musicals for film, and it looked like a lot of fun! I am also excited for the western film, but I have more interest in musicals in comparison to wester films. Although, after this course and I research about western films that could change. Furthermore, I often go to Wyoming with my family on vacation, and western films are very popular there, so I think it would be interesting if I could learn more about them.
